2 Gold Street

The building is a 51-story high-rise residential building located in the financial district, RAAD was engaged to design the replacement of the AC unit serving the gym amenity space. The project posed a challenge as the gym was intended to remain occupied during the replacement.

Additionally, RAAD was contracted to evaluate electrical issues at 2 Gold Street with the high-rise elevators shutting down intermittently. Through on site surveys, analysis of power quality reports, and service tickets from the elevator company, RAAD determined that multiple power quality issues in the building were affecting the elevators. These power quality issues were emanating from the systems in the building. After and analysis of several options, RAAD recommended power conditioners be installed in the building to protect the elevators from these fluctuations. The system was installed in 2022 and the issue has been resolved.
